Today we went mini golfing at the Mini Golf by Craig and Karl in Canary Wharf, just outside of Canary Wharf station (Jubilee Line). This golf course consists of nine holes that you can play individually or in groups. You are given a golf club, a golf ball, and if you want, a scorecard to keep track of scores when playing in groups.

Did I mention that it was free? Yes, this and many other free and non-free events taking place within Canary Wharf this summer, like Open Water Swimming, Paddle Tennis, Ping Pong, and Film Club, where you can watch classic and popular films outside Canada Square Park. The day we went mini golfing, they were showing Black Panther in the evening.

Just note that when you play mini golf at Canary Wharf, you only get one round. When you get to the 9th hole, which is the last one, and you get your ball in the hole, it gets swallowed up and you can't retrieve it. You then have to return your golf clubs and balls to the front desk. I assume if it's a quiet day you could probably go again for another round if you ask.
The staff onsite were absolutely wonderful and patient with my kids and their needs.
The movies showing for the month of June and July at Film Club.
From start to finish, it took my family 30-35 minutes to complete the course.
They also have scheduled sessions for families with SEN children and young people.
I took my kids on a Tuesday afternoon around 2 pm, so it wasn't busy for us. As a matter of fact, we were the only ones on the golf course for a good 20 minutes before a father and his child came to play. This made it easier for me to manage my kids because I didn't have to deal with too many people on the mini golf course while keeping my eyes on all four of my kids.
For more info on the SEN times, you can visit their website at:
Mini Golf at Canary Wharf is happening from now until the 29th of September, so if you get a chance, I highly suggest you check this out with the children. It's definitely a fun activity for the entire family to enjoy.
