How I Get Free Cinema Passes As A Carer: My Easy Guide to the CEA Card for UK Residents

Today I applied for an annual CEA Card for my autistic son, which gives disabled individuals the ability to allow their carer or anyone who will accompany and assist them to the cinema for free. Almost 90% of cinemas across the UK participate in this scheme, including big chains like Odeon and Cineworld and independent cinemas.

To apply online, all you need is

Proof of your disability, so receipt of a letter or document from one of the following:


AA

PIP

ADP / CDP in Scotland

AFIP

DWP

Registered Blind Individuals (SSIR & SIR)


A photo, which I took of my son using my mobile phone and uploaded it; and a

Payment of £6.00.


You can also submit your application via post.

The whole process took no more than 15 mins, and within days you will receive a reply stating if you have been eligible for a card and that your card is on its way via post.
